Founder & Superintendent’s Message

 

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome everyone who shares an interest in the education and vision of Wisdom Mission School.

 

My journey in education began in 1994 with HanSam SAT. Over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding countless students in their academic studies and college preparation, and of sharing in the joy of seeing many of them gain admission to outstanding universities, including Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, as well as prestigious medical programs.

However, after many years of teaching and working with students, I came to realize something even more important and fundamental than college admission:

There are far more students who have not yet found the right education—and a good teacher who believes in them and guides them with love—than students who simply lack the ability to learn.

 

Every student has God-given gifts and potential. Students learn at different paces and in different ways, and each has unique strengths as well as areas where support is needed. Therefore, a student’s potential should never be judged solely by his or her current academic performance.

I have especially witnessed remarkable transformations in students who had lost confidence and motivation in their studies. When they received the love and encouragement of teachers who believed in them and were given the opportunity to learn in ways suited to their individual needs, they began to change.

Through these experiences, I became convinced that students need more than a school that simply prepares them for college. They need a school that nurtures their faith and character, strengthens them academically, and prepares them for their future. It was upon this conviction and educational philosophy that Wisdom Mission School was founded.

 

Education Built on God’s Love

The education at Wisdom Mission School is built upon the love of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Christian education at WMS goes far beyond teaching the Bible as simply another academic subject. Our highest educational purpose is to help students know the Gospel, experience the love of God, and grow into people who love God and love others.

 

An Education That Never Gives Up on a Student

We do not compare students with one another. Instead, we seek to recognize the potential within each individual student. We consider each student’s abilities, learning pace, strengths, and areas of need, providing both the support and the opportunities for challenge that each student requires.

For students who have lost their motivation to learn, we help them find the courage to begin again. For those who need a stronger academic foundation, we teach them from the fundamentals. And for students who are ready for greater challenges, we help them develop their abilities to their fullest potential.

A student who realizes that he or she is loved and discovers his or her potential can truly be transformed.

 

Beyond College Admission: Preparing Students to Serve the World

We want our students to pursue academic excellence and achieve their goals. However, college admission is not the ultimate purpose of our education.

What matters even more is that students discover their identity and purpose in Jesus Christ, develop the gifts God has given them, live with integrity and responsibility, and become people who love and serve others.

We seek to raise not only students who succeed in the world, but students who serve the world.

 

Christian Education with a Global Vision

Wisdom Mission School seeks to combine the strengths of in-person education with the possibilities of online learning in order to provide students with the education they need beyond the limitations of time and place.

Through in-person education, we strengthen teacher-student relationships, mentoring, community, spiritual formation, and character development. Through online education, we seek to extend the educational opportunities of WMS to students in more communities and countries around the world.

Our dream is not simply to build a larger school. Our vision is to grow beyond the United States into a global Christian school that partners with Christian educators around the world to nurture each and every student with love.

 

The mission of Wisdom Mission School is to nurture each student with love, transform lives through the Gospel, prepare students through education, and equip them to serve the world.

Our hope is that when every student leaves Wisdom Mission School, he or she will be able to say:

“At this school, I was loved.
Here, I discovered my potential.
And in Jesus Christ, I discovered the purpose God has given to my life.”
